FHE

I didn't post this picture and video of an RC contest we saw while in Memphis. They were just practicing before the big day but it was preliminary for nationals. Okay, so I don't know the details but it was pretty cool to watch. =D

So the kids were really down about Paul being out of town so to boost their morale I surprised them with a picnic and Family Home Evening (Family Night) at the school playground. It was a lot of fun. Emma and Elie weren't too hungry once we got there for dinner. I think it might have had something to do with them filling up with chips while PJ and I did his math homework but I could be wrong.

Everyday when I pick them up from school I hear about "the tire swing" and how they can wait all recess long and sometimes not even get a turn. It truly feels that an entire day's outcome is based on how well their experience was with the tire swing. I'd say this day their day's outcome was pretty good.

After a couple hours of goofing off on the playgrounds we climbed to the top of the slide and had a extremely brief lesson on the importance of saying earnest prayers. I was planning short lesson but not this short. Emma was getting very tired and didn't want to even sit still for "Popcorn Popping On the Apricot Tree" so we literally sat for 30 seconds then walked in a big circle for the next minute just trying to keep her preoccupied yet bear my testimony of how I believe that our Heavenly Father wants to hear about the real stuff we do all day and not just, "My day was fine. Can I have this?". *sigh* "A" for effort, right? lol

We slide down, played soccer for a bit then ate some homemade brownies (Okay...before I start getting called Betty Crocker let's just clarify they were from a box but I DID make them at home. :D ) before heading home and crashing for the night.

All in all it was a good day.
